Programme Overview
The programme aims to produce holistic graduate engineers who possess not only the technical knowledge and critical skills but also equipped with skills in information technology, communication, entrepreneurship, and sound ethical values. This programme is tailored to produce mechanical engineers who are competent and specialised in the field of thermo-fluids & energy, design & manufacturing, and applied mechanics. Emphasise is also given on the design and synthesis of mechanical components and systems. Mechanical engineers are typically involved in research and development, design and manufacturing, analysis of thermal energy systems and machinery. Mechanical engineering graduates are highly flexible and can find employment in a huge range of sectors. Graduates in this field will have the ability to engage in the design, research and development, consultancy, education, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, sales and management in various industries such as manufacturing, processing, automotive, aviation, shipping, mining and services, communications, building services and medical industries.
