Programme Overview
Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Electronic Telecommunication Design) with Honours is designed to prepare students for careers in the telecommunications industry as well as to address the transfer and continuing education needs of associate degree graduates in Telecommunication or other related disciplines. The programme has a sound foundation of Mathematics and Physics, provides a variety of electives in the Arts, Sciences and the Humanities and is focused on applying current engineering technology methods to the solution of technical problems.
Core Skills Developed
The programme develops graduates with strong technical and professional competencies in the field of electronic telecommunication design. Students acquire core skills in electronic system design, telecommunication engineering, computer networking, radio frequency (RF) and wireless communication, antenna design, embedded systems, Internet of Things (IoT), and programming. Through a practice-oriented curriculum, students are trained to design, develop, integrate, test, and troubleshoot telecommunication systems using modern engineering tools and technologies. The programme also enhances analytical thinking, problem-solving, project management, communication, teamwork, and lifelong learning skills, enabling graduates to adapt to emerging technologies such as 5G/6G communications, artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and smart communication systems while meeting the evolving needs of the telecommunications industry.
